Details 20 April 2010 *![alt](http://www.ventasdeseguridad.com/images/stories/VDS/Noticias/ojoselectrnicosipvigilanaeropuerto.jpg)United States*. At the end of March 2010, the installation of an Internet Protocol video surveillance system at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was completed, which allowed the upgrade of six analog video surveillance systems.Genetec's Omnicast system allows, thanks to its open architecture, the use of existing hardware and infrastructure investments.

Sea-Tac surveillance consists of hundreds of analog cameras from different vendors with IP-enabled encoders. Pivot3 Serverless Computing ™ archives recorded videos on 11 virtual servers, as well as nine additional physical servers that support the directory and files retrieved from Omnicast.

This storage solution is in line with the purpose of the Port of Seattle that seeks to be the greenest in the country, since it has allowed to reduce by 80% the amount of equipment in the control room, according to Chris Evans, president of Electronic Systems, responsible for managing the physical security systems of the Sea-Tac airport.
