      Details     26 February 2008          *United States.* With the goal of strengthening security at U.S. airports, the Federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has made use of the technology; an example is the handheld electromagnetic readers, which will allow the verification of the identity documents of travelers transiting through air terminals. These readers work by emitting an ultraviolet light that allows to identify the security holograms immersed in the official stamps that are put on the licenses and passports. This strategy is part of the actions that the U.S. government has implemented throughout the country.
