      Details     14 September 2007           *![](https://www.ventasdeseguridad.com/images/stories/11-05/11-05-noti-hechos-seguridad.jpg)Ecuador.* At the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, security has been reinforced with surveillance cameras that are located at the entrances and security filters, in addition to the 300 people that national and international airlines have working on this matter.Currently the airport has 117 cameras that are monitored on 15 screens which are at the checkpoint, in addition to the two operators in shifts, who can see the platform, parking, corridors, passengers in the national and international areas, controlling 84 doors. There are also nine X-ray machines and a police-controlled immigration checkpoint.

According to statistics from last May, 225 people and 330 suspicious vehicles were detected at the airport and 698 poorly parked. According to Jorge Córdova, of security, two to three operations are carried out every day.
