International. First, Axis Communications announced the launch of a high-frequency radar, which is capable of detecting, classifying and tracking people and vehicles.
This device uses technology that does not rely on visibility for object detection and tracking, ensuring energy savings.
AXIS D2210-VE Radar offers a 95° field of view and can indicate the position of an object for accurate detection 24 hours a day in all types of weather and lighting conditions. It can detect people at a maximum distance of 60m and vehicles at 90m. When the road monitoring profile is activated, the vehicle detection range reaches 150 m.
This radar can also be used to trigger events and obtain traffic statistics with a higher level of reliability day and night. In addition, AXIS Speed Monitor, which can be downloaded free of charge, allows you to collect useful information about the monitored route.
The compact network device can be used for non-visual monitoring and can also be combined with up to eight AXIS D2210-VE radars located nearby thanks to an intelligent coexistence function.
In addition, there is the option to create a facility with up to six AXIS D2110-VE radars and customize the detection area as needed. It should be noted that the radar waves emitted by Axis radar devices are harmless: continuous exposure poses no risk to people.
New AXIS W400 Body Activation Kit
The company also announced the launch of AXIS W400 Body Worn Activation Kit. This new product can automatically activate the recording of all body cameras integrated into the same alarm system belonging to a light bar, a siren or by pressing a panic button.
In stressful situations, it's easy for body camera users to forget to start recording. With AXIS W400, this risk disappears, thanks to the fact that this new solution activates recording on one or more cameras when an incident is recorded, allowing law enforcement authorities to comply with their legal obligations and avoid liability claims.
AXIS W400 will go on sale through Axis distribution channels in late 2023.
