Latin America. As part of a strategy called 'Stronger than ever', Axis Communications announced the addition of two new key members to its team in Central America.
They are Alejandro Villalobos and Miguel Chacín, who will be responsible for driving the company's growth in the region, delivering customized security solutions to customers from various sectors.
"Villalobos and Chacín will play a critical role in expanding our presence in Central America. His incorporation reflects Axis' ongoing commitment to having the best talent in the security industry to offer cutting-edge solutions to all our customers," said Alejandro Aguirre, National Sales Manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
Alejandro Villalobos assumes as Regional Sales Manager for Southern Central America. Thanks to his more than 15 years of experience in the sector, Villalobos has accumulated a deep knowledge of the Central American and Caribbean market. In addition, he has been involved in key projects in the region, implementing advanced security solutions.
Miguel Chacín is the new regional sales manager for Northern Central America. This Electrical Engineer specialized in automation and control has been working for twelve years in the development of security projects that include video, access control of people and intrusion. In addition, he has collaborated with local integrators and distributors in several projects at the regional level.
Central American Market Outlook
In recent years, the region made up of Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama has begun to emerge as an important market for investment by companies in the technology sector, since it has attractive conditions for investment, qualified human talent, technological infrastructure and a strategic geographical location.
The new regional managers will be based in Costa Rica, a country that has increased its investment in science and technology in recent years.

The Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (CAMTIC) of Costa Rica determined that the country invested US$1,291 million in scientific and technological activities in 2020, while in 2021 the allocation of resources increased to USD$1,411 million, of which the private sector contributed USD$58.8 million, the academic sector USD$733 million and the public sector USD$619.8 million.
