Solar Plants in El Salvador have Self-sustaining CCTV

have Self-sustaining CCTV

El Salvador. Two new solar plants, located in Tecoluca and Quezaltepeque, are supported by Self-sustaining CCTV Security Systems to guarantee the protection of their perimeter fence of 3,000 and 3,500 meters, respectively.

LiveSmart Tecnologías, was the company in charge of installing the CCTV solution in both plants simultaneously, during the last quarter of 2022. These spaces dedicated to the generation of renewable energy are located in the department of San Vicente (Tecoluca) and La Freedom (Quezaltepeque).

In general, the Security Systems that were put into operation are poles with solar panels, which consist of: thermal cameras with video analytics from our ally Hikvision, as well as wireless antennas with switch, solar controllers and a bank of gel batteries. NVR recorders, alarm center and access control, plus other confidential elements. All approved by the international EPCistas of both projects that together add 38MW to the installed capacity.

Savings achieved
By installing Self-Sustaining Solar Poles in the perimeter fences, a saving of 6,500 meters of fiber optic cable plus power cable is verified, avoiding all trenching, ducts and civil works over long distances.

"Thanks to this design, engineering and efficient installation and start-up, LiveSmart already has upcoming projects contracted for Central America and the Caribbean, for which we thank Principal and EPCista clients who have trusted our Self-sustaining CCTV Security solutions for Solar Plants , Critical Infrastructures and Large Extensions”, indicated Nolberto Muñoz, General Manager and spokesperson for LiveSmart Technologies.

It is worth noting that the LiveSmart Technologies team traveled from Chile to the Republic of El Salvador for 6 weeks -approximately- to carry out the installation and leave the Self-sustaining CCTV Security System in operation.
