Latin America. In the words of Ricardo Zermeño, director of Select, the value in the Mexican market of cloud solutions and IT consulting could exceed 1,950 million dollars this year, due to the demand and level of growth of this type of services.
The statements, which were given in the framework of the presentation to customers and partners of the Data Center Health Assessment service of the company NTT, detailed for the case of it services consulting would be between 540 and 980 million dollars, while cloud storage services could reach figures greater than 970 million dollars.
Zermeño, who is also a partner of Select, pointed out that both items would occupy the most dynamic spectrum of the growth of their industry, where they would take up to 10% of the demand for implementation and operation, since, according to him, these architectures will grow from 5% to 9% in 2022.
Likewise, he added that the study, from which he extracted the information, surveyed the 1,500 largest public and private companies in Mexico, research where it was possible to observe that organizations that are up to date in their technological innovation plans, will allocate an average of 33% in Mobility, 33% in analytics and Big Data, as well as 10% in security. Zermeño said that the rest of the organizations are inclined to spend 26% on cloud services, 19% on analytics and Big Data and up to 14% of their budget for security.
Trend of process migration to the cloud
In part of his presentation, Zermeño said that the benefits in disaster recovery, business continuity, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance and strengthening resilience are some of the main reasons why there is a trend of migration of processes to the cloud in Mexico. However, he stressed that it is the agility and efficiency in the processes that make the cloud a nerve center of the operations of companies today.
Finally, he highlighted that the digital transformation in Mexico behaves very closely with the global trend, characterized by the fact that hybrid cloud workloads have grown from 6 to 16% in the last year; while the public cloud has grown its installed offering from 7 to 26%.
Digital transformation as a business purpose
For her part, Lorena de Pino, Data Center specialist for NTT, indicated on the same day that, taking into account the experience of the pandemic, where there was a stoppage in business, it is necessary to fully adopt the digital transformation and stressed that for this it is important to have a plan, a methodology and an evaluation of what has been obtained.
Pino concluded by stating that: "The cloud must be included in digital transformation strategies in Mexico for its enormous benefits in terms of reducing the necessary investments, ease of scalability of functions or applications, improvement of the shopping experience and easy recovery from a disaster scenario."
