The physical security industry will have to adapt quickly to the changes that the world already demands in the way it interacts and faces new challenges.

This year is seen as part of a period that will extend for a while, still to the unpredictable date, and that represents a very important and significant change in all activities and naturally in those related to Private Security, which is where we focus our comments.
This new era that is coming product, on this occasion, of a natural phenomenon such as the pandemic caused by a new type of virus that has fundamentally disrupted world relations as they were established and that undoubtedly in the coming years will have to be recomposed in each area of personal and professional life, industrial, etc.; since this affectation has limited us from close relationships with our family environment, even to giving a kiss or hug of greeting is a possible health risk; and from here we scale to work and professional relationships where the closest communication is marked by the mask, distance or videoconferences as the only alternative.
Traveling within countries is limited to serve our customers and traveling between countries is a real adventure of limitations and non-contagion tests with rules that can be modified in full transfer, and even take off with a plan to land with changes in it.
We were used to a personal hypercommunication with mass consumption trips to do cultural tourism or business trips to attend events of different professional nature. Behind this way of life was the large industry of airlines, trains, hotels, convention centers, restaurants and so on; all this changed in a matter of weeks to speed up the next 5G connection revolution where we can, from anywhere on the planet, be connected not only with the people we require, but with the necessary equipment for our work, our local or international transport as well as those we occupy at home, in what is already known as digital homes.
This supposes a change where from the locality of a point we can access the globality and visit places, museums, scenarios and interact with people located on the other side of the world. All this seasoned with Big Data that according to our selections and preferences will present alternatives and menus that strengthen the same selections that originated the personal Big Bata and focus us on segments of related consumers. In all this new concept of life, when once the stabilization of global vaccination is achieved and the new communication platforms where the private security industry will be can be massively incorporated, it is undoubtedly called to play an important role totally different from the one it had been exercising since its main task will be to analyze the risks to which each probable client is exposed and present alternatives of devices and management platforms that support you in your perception of security.
All these equipment and platforms will be connected to the different devices (Smartphone, Tablet, Smart Watches, etc.) of the client which will receive online any variation that affects their safety, from an accident on the road, to a crime in process in the area where it is located or a possible natural phenomenon that has a certain percentage of affectation in the area where the client is, all this provided by the analysis of artificial intelligence applied to the levels of security contracted by the client.
Significant changes
For all this, significant changes are required that are already underway and for which the companies of the sector must be prepared, in the first instance the workers, starting with the security guard; the installers of equipment and the rest of the personnel in the business echelon must have an academic and technical training superior to what is considered acceptable today, since as the pandemic has indicated to us, the security guards have had to become auxiliaries of implementation of medical protocols in many countries where they have had to make a plus of effort to study, understand and implement such protocols.
Equipment installers in the future will not install only the device, but will have to incorporate it into the customer's and the company's networks, to facilitate its monitoring by the associated artificial intelligence platforms. One of the main activities of the management will be the implementation of encryption and cybersecurity systems that guarantee that all that accumulated information is not used by the new generations of criminals that have been emerging.
The most important thing for companies at this stage is to recognize that all the changes will affect us and start as quickly as possible the necessary adjustments to serve customers with the new requirements that they will undoubtedly demand from us. In short, a new world where privacy will be a negotiable good or a fundamental right depending on how the new social pacts that will have to emerge are developed; already to this day a part of privacy has been sacrificed with contact tracing systems where to warn if a person has been in contact with someone infected has been followed all day minute by minute where he was, who was nearby and with whom he interacted directly or indirectly as being a companion of another person on a bus trip, train or plane.
As a conclusion I tell you: welcome to the 21st century that did not begin in 2000 with the millennium computer failure that did not occur, but in 2020 with a possible risk that was seen distant and unlikely but that here has us observing what the rest of the century will bring.
