Training is your biggest investment

altFor Nicolás Figueroa, CEO of the Mexican security company Sinpro, being aware of new technologies is one of the most important aspects of his work. Likewise, the quality of service, constant training and excellent customer service have consolidated his company as one of the most important in this country.

As a salesman, Nicolás Figueroa's career began in the world of security systems. However, his great interest in work and his quick ability to learn gave him the opportunity to get a major promotion in a very short time. Currently, he is the CEO of the company Sistemas Inteligentes de Protección Sinpro. Perseverance and love for his work have made security one of his great passions.

Currently, this 46-year-old entrepreneur is in charge of established markets in the United States and Korea. Also, from its office in Mexico, it has managed to supply Latin America, a responsibility that it faces with quality in its products, speed in delivery, excellent customer service and competitive prices.

"In addition, continuous training is an obligation for all of us who are dedicated to electronic security. Technology is transforming faster than we imagine. All manufacturers constantly modify, adjust and update their systems and that is why security professionals have to be updated to respond to an increasingly demanding market. For me, training is an investment," says Figueroa.

For the Professional of the Month of this edition of SECURITY SALES, new technologies are very important. "And whenever there is something new I can find it in this magazine," says the Mexican businessman.

A lifetime of work
Nicolás Figueroa was born in Mexico City in 1965. With three older brothers and three younger brothers, he lived his childhood in the heat of a large family.

Several occupations this executive had before dedicating himself to security systems. "During my life I have had many opportunities. Likewise, I have had several jobs: before offering security, I dedicated 17 years to steel production, maquiladoras and trade (buying and selling various products)," Figueroa recalls.

Since 1997, The Professional of the Month is linked to the security industry. "At the beginning of that year I had the opportunity to join the best alarm company in San Luis Potosí (Mexico). " My teacher", Captain Miguel Ramirez, invited me to be part of his great sales team. And with the passage of a very short time I realized the ease I had for advice, installation, commissioning and training in the subject of security systems, and especially, in regard to the closed circuit television, "says the businessman.

Thus, in 1998, Nicolás Figueroa decided to found his own security company. And so far, it has been providing this service for 14 years. The same anniversary is celebrated by the company he currently runs, being a double celebration for his company.


The family does not forget
According to Figueroa, alternating his occupations with the time dedicated to his family is an element that is part of his personal balance. For him, the main engine of his life is his home.

"I am the father of four children with whom he interacted every day of my life. We have a lot of fun on the weekends: I take them on short trips to cross country and we enjoy as a family the challenges of creating new routes, which have given us excellent natural landscapes. My wife, in addition, has always been my support," he says.

And these recreational activities are combined with the obligations as director of Sinpro. "The days of work in the office are really exhausting: we open at 8:30 in the morning and normally the working day ends at 8 at night," complements the employer.

The key is in customer service
Getting customers to be comfortable is the most important and at the same time the most difficult task, in a company that provides services. However, for the director of Sinpro this is the key to success, so he invests resources to make his company a leader.

"Attention to customers and friends is paramount for us. Thus we have a policy of continuous attention and we give daily training and workshops for employees. Once again, and as many times as it is necessary to repeat it, customer service is the key to success," explains Nicolás Figueroa.

The executive recognizes the importance acquired by security systems in the budget of Latin American homes and offices. Because of that, it indicates that competition is more demanding and responding adequately to this challenge is part of an efficient policy.

"I have the mission to remind all employees of the company that work, kindness and knowledge must always be delivered to our customers and suppliers. It is worth remembering that customers are nobody's, they will always prefer to buy where they are offered the best price and service. Safety is no longer a luxury, it is a priority, and we will sell it with knowledge and application," he says.

The Future of Security
For Figueroa, security threats are becoming more frequent. But, at the same time, protection systems are becoming more sophisticated, which increases the demand for this kind of services.

"In Mexico, and in several Latin American countries, we live countless threats, both physical and virtual. However, having the culture of safety has become a priority. More and more we see in the streets of our countries the civil and governmental implementation of closed circuit television, voice and emergency buttons for immediate responses, "says the director of Sinpro.

The future of security, according to Nicolás Figueroa, looks promising. However, it does not fail to emphasize that the competitiveness and quality of companies must be the priority, since the needs of customers always come first.

"Thanks to customers, Sinpro is growing by leaps and bounds. But, it should also be noted that the diversity of technologies we offer, our good prices, good service and immediate delivery is what has made Sinpro recognized as a company with vision, mission and continuous strategy, "he concludes.
